This is the third time that the NCAA grounds Dana Airline since the accident of its MD-83, June 3, 2012 in Lagos, which led to the death of 163 victims. Two days after the crash, Dana Air was suspended for seven months. After the resumption of its activities, a new suspension was issued on March 17, 2013 for a period of seven days.
Sunday night, the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has announced the opening of an investigation into the incident of Sokoto. "The AIB investigators were dispatched to investigate the circumstances of the incident to determine the probable cause, "said the spokesman for AIB, Tunji Oketunbin in a statement.
