Newborn thrown off 12th floor of building

According to the Global Times , a Chinese immigrant mom has been charged with murder after she threw her newborn baby from the 12th floor of a building. The woman named Zhou was accused of premeditated murder and taken into custody.

Zhou daughter's body was found in the roof overhang on the 4th floor of a residential building at Songjiang District, Shanghai City. Witnesses said that the baby was naked and still had her umbilical cord attached. The baby was dead a long time ago.

According to police records, 19-year-old mother was never married,. She gave birth secretly in a public toilet.

Zhou could go to prison for 10 years to life in prison, or sentenced to death, a lawyer said.
