Who gives a damn if Jim has 99 demons…I guess 60 innocent and harmless dead bodies are not as sensational as Jim Lyke. May their souls rest in peace. Amen!”

While we all expect Jim Iyke to speak at length on his experience at TB Joshua’s church, he simply took to his Twitter page to say;

“Its Beautiful that’s d least I can say. Nothing else truly matters. Absolutely nothing! God liveth whether you’re a believer or not.
Met more miserable billionaires than unhappy mid income earners.Success is relative.I want it wholesome.Is either ur bond or free”

Photos From The Opening Of Intercontinental Hotel In Lagos

The Opening of the 5-star hotel at Kofo Abayomi Street in Victoria Island. The hotel is estimated at N30Billion and it is the tallest hotel in West Africa. It was designed by a Nigerian architect, Bayo Odunlami.

Built on an elevated terrain, the 23-storey hotel sitting on Victoria Island with 352 rooms is fully owned by Milan Group. The group currently has a total of 20 hotels across Africa with intentions to expand its footprint by 20 percent in the next 5 years.

A lot of dignitaries are presently at the opening ceremony such as Oba Akinolu of Lagos, Oba Oniru, The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo, Dele Momodu, and the Governor himself. See pictures below.

'I Know a Nigerian Star' writing competition

Konnect Africa, the publishers of KonnectAfrica.net,an online, pan-African magazine that celebrates Africa and the great achievements of Africans in this era are delighted to announce a first Writing Competition-I Know a Nigerian Star- which opens on 1st October, 2013!!!

Do you know a Nigerian ‘Star’? Then, submit an original article about an individual who is MAD [making a difference] around you: in your community, school, workplace, marketplace, locale or state. It is your turn to have a go at inspiring Nigerians and Africans at large, and celebrating the Stars that you encounter on a daily basis.

Nigeria. Islamist attacks on the school: at least 50 dead

Over the weekend, the Islamist attacked and shot college students sleeping in their dorms in Nigeria. The
attack was at a college in the north-eastern Nigeria, a region where Islamist rebels had already attacked schools and colleges. assailants broke into the school of agriculture in the state of Yobe and shot about 70 students sleeping in a dorm . Then they rooms where classes are held on fire and evacuated about 1,000 students.

The exact number of victims of the recent bombing according to information obtained by the BBC stands at 50 students. However, Nigerian military in an interview with The Associated Press reported that the army found 70 bodies dead of the student victims and many injured or missing.

Islamist group Boko Haram seeks to overthrow the current government of Nigeria and the creation of an Islamic state. They are the suspect for the attacks.

Bypass/Use Proxy Server

Hi,
I will be sharing with you few steps to take in order to use or bypass a proxy server using Google Chrome browser without affecting your system setting. All changes are within the Google Chrome browser alone.

You are expected to have downloaded and installed Google Chrome browser.

Step 1

Click on the the Customize and control Google Chrome Icon and select Settings from the drop down list

Step 2

Click on Extensions at the top left corner of the settings page

Step 3

Scroll down the page and Click o Get more extensions

Step 4

From the extensions page, search for "Proxy Switchysharp, wait for it to load and Click Free as shown in the image below.

Step 5

From the confirmation pop up, click add

Step 5

Wait until the extension is installed and click on New Profile

Step 6

Enter your new proxy in the HTTP Proxy field and the corresponding port number, also enter a Profile Name to save it as and click on the save button. If you want to Bypass a proxy server, you don't have to create a New Profile.

Step 7

Ensure your New Profile is saved and close the window.

Step 8

A new Icon will be added at the top right corner of the Google Browser, click o it and Select your New Profile, if you want to Bypass your Proxy Server, select Direct Connection and enjoy surfing the internet without any limitation!

Android Beam

Android Beam is a feature of the Android mobile operating system to allow data to be transferred via near field communication (NFC). It allows the rapid short-range exchange of web bookmarks, contact info, directions, YouTube videos, and other data. Android Beam was introduced in Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Usage

Android Beam is activated by placing devices back to back with the content to be shared displayed on the screen. If the content is able to be sent, the screen will shrink down and display Tap to Beam at the top. Tapping the screen sends the content from the one device to the other. A sound will play when devices are near and able to beam. When the data is sent, a confirmation tone will play or a negative tone will play if failed and the content will shrink off the screen indicating beaming is complete. Sharing is one direction and the device sending content will not get content from the receiving device.

Requirements

To activate Android Beam, both devices must support NFC (Near field communication) and have it enabled in addition to passing the lock-screen or logging in.

Bump (Send Files, Photos, Videos, Everything) Android & iOS

Bump is an application created by Bump Technologies for the Apple's iOS and Google's Android operating systems. It allows two smartphone users to physically bump their phones together to transfer contact information, photos, and files to each other over the Internet. Bump also allows users to bump photos from a phone to a computer. It is the eighth most popular free app of all time and was the billionth download on Apple's App Store. Bump is free to download for both platforms. As of February 2013, there had been 125 million Bump app downloads.

Functionality

Bump sends contact information, photos and files to another device over the internet. Before activating the transfer, each user confirms what he or she wants to send to the other user. To initiate a transfer, two people physically bump their phones together. A screen appears on both users' smartphone displays, allowing them to confirm what they want to send to each other. When two users bump their phones, software on the phones send a variety of sensor data to an algorithm running on Bump servers, which includes the location of the phone, accelerometer readings, IP address, and other sensor readings. The algorithm figures out which two phones felt the same physical bump and then transfers the information between those phones. Bump makes transfers through software, while devices with Near Field Communication (NFC) chips transfer data through software and hardware.

BlackBerry halts rollout of BBM for Android and iOS

According to a BlackBerry blog post, the unreleased app "caused issues", that the company has been trying to resolve. The Android app has now been disabled, but customers who downloaded the BBM for iPhone app will still be able to use BBM.

"Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM," said BlackBerry's Luke Reimer. "As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone."

Although BlackBerry did not elaborate on the cause of these "issues", security expert Graham Cluley suggested that BlackBerry may not have been able to cope with the spike of activity hitting its servers.

"What seems, in part, to have tripped up BlackBerry is the poorly-policed free-and-easy Google Play Android app store, where multiple BBM apps, posing as official releases, appeared," he said.

"Most Android users assume that if an app is in the official Google Play store, it must be official and safe to install on their phone. The truth, sadly, is rather different."

Reimer noted that more than 1.1 million active users downloaded the BBM for Android app – albeit the unofficial version – in the first 8 hours after launch, indicating that demand for the Blackberry instant messaging service on other mobile platforms is high.

However, the decision to pull the app is likely to knock consumer confidence in the platform, with users not knowing how long the service will be available for.

The news follows BlackBerry's announcement last week it will be laying off 40 percent of its global workforce – around 4,500 positions – and reporting losses of nearly $1 billion at its second quarter results later this month.

The announcement will include a mammoth writedown of up to $960m, partly down to unsold handsets, and a $72m charge for restructuring.

Burna Boy's 'Run My Race' topped the MTV Top 10 Official list yesterday. He came from the bottom to displace D'Banj with 'Don't Tell Me Nonsense' which has been number one for two weeks.

The show which was hosted by Ehiz, the MTV Base V.J had Toolz of Beat F.M as the guest. Toolz, during the show, said one of her best songs ever is Timaya's 'Shake Your Bum Bum'

Jesse Jagz, producer, singer and artist MI’s younger brother, claims he is Nigerian music's saviour and the only musician who can rescue Nigerian music.

The artist, born Jesse Garba Abaga, used to be a member of Chocolate City with his older brother Jude Abaga. He quit the label earlier this year and has since started his own musical endeavour, Jesse Jagz Nation.

The Jos, Plateau State born entertainer who is known for his magic fingers on the turn table says that Nigerian music is "unintelligent" and that "even goats can dance to our music".

Jesse Jagz who is now the undisputed Afrikan Shrine spiritual leader, told HipHop World Magazine that he is his own top artiste in the country.

"My top 3 artistes in Nigeria are me, me, me. No one works harder than me."

"I would love to see a lot of my colleagues step up their game. You don’t need Jesus to tell you that Nigerian music is unintelligent."

EME rapper, Skales probably never saw this coming. Well incase you didn’t know Skales in a song titled “no time” said that genevieve was top on his list and he wants to give her the D, but now Skales might get the ‘S’.

The far from happy star actress issued a statement this morning to one of our reporters, and I quote:
